Younger Looking Skin: 8 Easy Tricks

December 28, 2016 by Melissa No Comments

A woman never tells her age

Well, most don’t. I like to ask people to guess when they ask me. Usually, I’ll get a response somewhere in the mid-twenties. Of course, that totally, utterly makes my day. Then I’ll tell them my age and I get the same reaction: no! You are how old? I’ve been blessed with excellent genes. If you saw my parents, they both look years below their actual age and neither of them worked very hard to achieve that (hey, they did grow up in the 60s and 70s, no judging). My mom always says we came from good stock (great work on comparing family to cows, mom…).

These Five Things Will Make Any Airplane Ride More Comfortable

December 28, 2016 by Melissa No Comments

Air travel =❤️/🙄.

Let me start by saying that I realize how fortunate I am to even complain about being uncomfortable when flying. My Current Skincare Routine

December 28, 2016 by Melissa No Comments

I only started really caring about this in my early thirties, but I wish I had done it sooner.

I faced (ha) so many skin challenges growing up; redness, dryness, acne on my face, chest and back and it wouldn’t go away. I had it from 12 to 30. While I washed and treated my face daily with whatever my dermatologist told me to, I was so focussed on drying my face out (that’s what three rounds of Accutane will do to you – eee), that I didn’t care much about nursing it back to health. By the way, the Accutane didn’t work. So once my skin finally did clear up (thanks, naturopathy), I decided it was time to start caring for it the way a grown up would. I could finally see my actual skin, and I wanted it to look young, clear, and smooth.

5 Simple Instructions For Properly Positioning Your Car Seat (Adulting).

December 21, 2016 by Melissa No Comments

I drive. A lot.

I live in the suburbs and the majority of my life happens in the city, meaning there’s a good deal of commuting in my week. I love my car, but even the most comfortable seat won’t feel good for long periods of time if not positioned correctly. Not to mention, a car seat must be positioned properly for safety’s sake, too. Driving 6 inches away from the steering wheel is no safe.

40% of us claim that sitting causes back and neck pain. Forty-freakin-percent. That’s a lot of us feeling pretty, pretty uncomfortable. Sitting too close, too far, too high, too low, without lumbar support, without your wheel at the right distance and level will all affect how you feel when driving and how safe you are. Sitting too close to the wheel, for example, which is especially prevalent among shorter drivers under 5 feet, 4 inches, can be fatal.
