Chickpea Pasta: by Chickpea Pasta
I’ve been looking for some meatless dinner ideas because I love the idea of eating a more plant-based diet. However, I’ve found it hard to feel satiated off a cabbage roll or bowl of veggie and bean curry. I’ve been keeping an eye out at grocery stores for my magic bullet and at last, I’ve found it. Chickpea and lentil pasta! Hello! I made this the other night with sea asparagus (Google it, it’s divine), pesto, mushrooms and sautéed spinach. I felt like a legit Italian mamma making a beautiful pasta dish for dinner. After years of saying no to spaghetti, I feel like I can eat it again without the guilt, oh, and 23 grams of protein per serving and two simple ingredients: chickpeas and lentils. Yum.
Ozark, Season 1: Netflix.
We are on episode 7, so I don’t know how this is going to end just yet. But so far, I am crazy about this show. I owe it to my mom who texted me non-stop ‘have you seen Ozark yet?’, telling me it was Breaking Bad about money laundering. Jason Bateman, who you probably know from Arrested Development and is traditionally a comedy actor, shows off his skills by not only directing, but taking on a very serious lead role as a square-ish financial planner turned money laundering hound. The story is gripping, the acting is excellent and the cinematography and post-production is outstanding. This one’s going to take home some statues next year. I highly recommend tuning in.

We have all heard at least one TED talk by now. But this podcast, by TED, pushes storytelling a step further and allows anonymous storytellers to share stories that are too risky for the person to reveal their true identity. The stories are important and must be told, but the storyteller cannot afford the reputational risk. I’ve heard two episodes so far and am a happy subscriber, waiting for the next episode to upload!
